"Little Victories"

I found this in my Ye Olde Japan files.
It's the bedtime version of THIS.
Guess I liked the song a lot.

Held my first interview today, at work.
Now I'm starting to feel like a real producer. And that is what I am.
{I make radio spots.}
Also, I have a date with a musician next week.

Feelin' perdy gud. Not even lyin'.

I'ma doll up fer this one.

What little victories are happening in your life?

"The Improv Sisters of Stratford Court"

"A person without a sense of humor is like a wagon without springs:
It's jolted by every pebble on the road." -Henry Ward Beecher

We are all, in our little Court of Stratford,
very talented jesters women.
But, rather than a vocal piece or piano concerto,
we chose to do something altogether:
an improv game.

To play "Late for Work", you need:
one late person
one boss
one or two (or more) prompters/employees.

The "late" person leaves the room
{or, in my case, deafens themselves with music}
while everyone else decides THREE reasons why they're late.
The late person then returns,
and tries to explain to the boss why they're late
guessing the reasons from the prompters.
Basically, it's a repackaged game of Charades.

I chose to be the late person, 'cuz Kate & Amy rock at prompting,
and Kami's a fun boss to play off.
I do so love my little Stratford Court.

Friends came to share their company with us,
because Girl Talk is only fun when guys play too.

And on a whim, we decided to reenact the
famous Potter Puppet Pals,
to show our fandom love for them.

Being dorks weird special awesome is a lifestyle choice.
*Edit: For whatever reason, the outtakes are all blacked out. My apologies.

"It's a serious question, guys, come on..."

Me: What do you want to be when you grow up?
Student 1: I want to be a nice groom. I like girls.
Student 2: I want to be a vegetable.
Student 3: I want to be a fish.
Me: Well, what do you want to be?
Student 4: I want to be a god.
Me: Okay... why?
Student 4: First, I want to destroy the world.
Me: Oh.
Student 4: Second, I want to make a new star.
Me: ...Follow your dreams.

"Good Morning, Mr. Vampire"

"If people were meant to pop out of bed, we'd all sleep in toasters." -Anon

I dunno about you,
but I stink at waking up the first time my alarm clock jingle-jangles.
"5 more minutes, just 5 more min... zZzZz..."
So, to get genki for my students today,
I sang a silly song
and danced with a curling iron next to my face.

I can't wait for the summertime.
My mornings are just plain groggy when I'm up before the sun.
Do you have a magic trick that helps you wake up?
Besides coffee? :)

"History Spoofs"

"History is not melodrama, even if it usually reads like that."
-Robert Penn Warren

Alright, we had too much fun with this one. Jeanelle went through several ideas for her final project in her History of Creativity class. This one, unfortunately, got shelved for lack of time. So, I kept our little collaborations (we did the lyrics together) and recorded them.

A few things you should know:
  • Elizabeth Bathory is also called "Countess Dracula". She's known for draining young girls of their blood and bathing in it to stay youthful.
  • Leonardo Da Vinci was a genius. He painted, invented, and made fantastic contributions to the scientific world.
  • Galileo Galilei was labeled a heretic for his heliocentric theory (the sun, not the earth, is the center of our galaxy), but was pardoned of a jail sentence and spent the remainder of his life under house arrest. He was an incredible astronomer and contributer to science.
So, do you love it? I think we're much too silly.
