"Home"

Support us on iTunes!

One of the best parts about being a musician
is getting to learn and play with other artists and their styles.
This song was so fun to work on -- we had to hone our coordination skills!
Gerald had the kick drum, guitar picking, and vocal leads,
and I had to harmonize while playing the glockenspiel and tambourine.
Projects that push you to grow leave you the most satisfied.

"Silent Night 聖 この夜 w/Babbo"

It's good to be home for the holidays. ❤
An instant happy for me is singing with my babbo.
So thankful he agreed to be filmed. :)

"Every River Music Video"

Fox approached me with this song,
the lyrics full of so much heartache and love,
I wanted to convey those feelings through my voice.
This video gave me the opportunity to put images to what I felt. ❤

Shot in the beautiful mountains, riversides, and beaches of Utah and Hawaii.

"Use Somebody"

I wanted this cover to sound ethereal and dreamlike,
quite like the heartfelt desire these lyrics portray.
So, reverb up the gunzo, but that was the goal. (*⌒―⌒*)

Watch in HD please!

"Mercede's Lullaby"

This is a song I've been dreaming of covering for a while,
but just didn't quite know how to approach it.
Finally, I decided to write a poem:

Wild the fairy garden grows
Twining 'round like mistletoe
Poison sweet as berry wine
Fauns know which one is kind

There are no such things as leaves
Only baby fairy trees
Branches grow as strong as horns
Ones that fauns can adorn

Do... do you dare
Secrets everywhere

A special thank-you to my dear friend and fellow musician, Chris,
for coaching me on Castilian speech and translating my lyrics.
{He sure makes a creepily beautiful Pan, methinks.}

Translation, Pan's vocals: Chris Knorr

"When Will My Life Begin?"

Your life begins
when you decide it does.
Remembering those who braved the odds and
chose to begin their lives as founding fathers of this country.
Happy Fourth of July!

"Be Prepared"

Villain themes are fun ways to let loose! (o `▽´ )oΨ ケケケ♪
In junior high, I played Scar in a "Be Prepared" number.
In high school, I switched to Young Simba for "The Morning Report".

I'm watching all the Disney movies in chronological order right now.
Though I haven't reached The Lion King just yet,
I wanted to Be Prepared for it, since it's my #1 favorite. (^・ω・^)

"Soulmate"

I believe there are many people who can make you happy,
but only a very small palmful can make you feel heavenly.

However, this song is beautiful,
and very worth re-covering.
Hope it soothes you.

"Part of Your World (Reprise)"

Probably my favorite song in the entire movie.

"Because I Have Been a Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief"

My motto, since I was thirteen-years-old, has been:
"Look for the good in life, look for the good in others."
This song has always touched me,
and the clip The Church released warmed my heart.
May we all try to step into someone's shoes every now and again.

"Part of Your World"

A revisiting of a childhood favorite.
{I can quote this whole movie for you, verbatim.}
Though I love being human,
sometimes I do a reverse-Ariel and wish for fins.

"Princess Mononoke (Live)"

How many times have I covered this song?
...Let's not count. (〃∇〃)
This will be a lullaby for my children. ~
I shan't stop singing it, I love it so.

"Daughters {Bloopers}"

I sat down with my father to do a proper recording,
and this is what happened:

Ah well.
Bloopers are my favorite parts of films, anyways. ヽ(^。^)丿

"Silent Night in October"

Is before Halloween too early to sing Christmas carols? Ooh, maybe... ;)
Visiting my family for Sunday dinner. We love our music moments.(-^〇^-)
Thanks, Papere, for playing with me!

"Princess Mononoke ~ Piano"

I've done quite a few covers from this movie.
{It's got such pretty music, how could I not?}

The mic didn't pick it up, but Roomie Amy clapped at the end.
{Which is why I thanked her -- Danke, girly. :D You so supportive.}

Have a wonderful week, everyone ~ awooo!

"Organ Fest IV"

I find chapels, cathedrals, and temples exorbitantly gorgeous.
{And next year, I'll see European ones.}

Any break from the norm is welcome to me,
so being paid to usher at Organ Fest IV for Classical 89
was a chance I snatched right up.

The cathedral bellowed with gothic organ melodies
and left our whole crew fish-mouthed and speechless.

Guys, seriously.
If you're in the Valley next year,
go to Organ Fest V.
You shan't regret it.

"Performing at Kami-Con"

Kami-Con has invited me as a special guest performer
to sing at their next convention, in February.
They'll fly me out to Alabama,
where I'll be on-stage at my first live performance.

My lovely girl, Erin Hunt,
will be accompanying me.
{She knows a lot more about conventions than I do.}

Songwriting was always something I did for me,
but now it's becoming a little career.

May we all share the pieces of ourselves
we treasure most dearly
with more and more people.

"When You Believe"

"God will not abandon you. So don't you abandon us." -Miriam

I had to do several takes of this song.
It's so heart-moving, so full of hope and love,
that I kept breaking down in tears.

What a powerful message it carries. And not just in English.
Got to learn a bit of Hebrew for this.

When You Believe by ashleyserena

a-shi-ra a-no-da-nai ki ga-oh ga-ah
(I will sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously)
a-shi-ra a-no-da-nai ki ga-oh ga-ah
(I will sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously)
mi-cha-mo-cha ba-elim adonai
(Who is like You, O Lord, among the celestial)
mi-ka-mo-cha ne-dar-ba-ko-desh
(Who is like You, majestic in holiness)
na-chi-tah vi chas-di-cha am zu ga-al-ta
(In Your love, You lead the people You redeemed)
na-chi-tah vi chas-di-cha am zu ga-al-ta
(In Your love, You lead the people You redeemed)
a-shi-ra, a-shi-ra, a-shi-ra...
(I will sing, I will sing, I will sing...)

Singing both female parts, the children's part, and with the chorus.
All challenging in their own way.

The Hebrews endured 40 years in the desert.
While traveling through our own wildernesses,
let's not give up hope, friends.
