The Cosmos flower
unfolds its pink petals
when other blossoms succumb to the cold
and shrivel theirs.
It flourishes in the frosty air
stubborn, colorful,
and full of life.

The Cosmos flower teaches us
we can keep our faces upturned,
even when others wilt and die.
