"The Trees are Exploding"

...with life.

I've posted bitty previews of spring before,
and even though my little Canon
--no matter how I adore it--
cannot capture their absolute beauty...

...I hope this satisfies your eyes
until the time when
you can see the flowers for yourself,
should that time ever come for you.

While walking down this path,
strewn with cherry blossom petals,
my mind took to a bit of poetry
delivered by Mr. Knightly of Emma:

"Maybe it is our imperfections which make us so perfect for one another."
...Which, I do think,
could make any woman swoon
if delivered on such a path as this,
scattered with the milky pink
of sakura.

  1. The cherryblossom trees around the Tidal Basin in Washington DC just passed their peak blooming time. I live in Maryland and have always wanted to go see them during the cherry blossom festivals, but I'm always told I can't because of the enormous crowds.

However, I did get to see them one year after the festivals had come and gone. It was really chilly out, but it was nice to see them afterall.

  5. ume...sakura.... Korea is also pretty this time of year. Seriously, even though I served in a completely different country, your blog posts never fail to remind me of similarities in the Land of the Morning Calm just a hop, skip, and a jump from where you are. Relish this experience!
